This is a strange "memorial" book. I couldn't find date of birth or date of death. It's not really clear that the subject IS dead even though it's written in the past tense. There's no introduction to give any background. There is a photograph but that's easily "borrowed." The letters are so gung ho and dripping with testosterone. I wondered if it was just a bit of propaganda. They were so ham-fisted with their patriotic rhetoric. I've read many other memorial books and usually they are tragic and badly written and overly sentimental. That's not the case with this one.
